“Loaded Track Geometry Measurement – wherever it’s needed”
Latronix has collaborated with Ecorail to equip their Loaded Track Measurement Rig with state-of-the-art measurement systems. The measurement rig is an innovative solution aiming to provide measurements wherever and whenever needed.
Traditionally, loaded track measurements rely on scheduled recordings by dedicated vehicles, covering vast railway networks. This approach often leads to delays in addressing urgent measurement needs, such as post-maintenance checks, resulting in temporary speed limits, reduced network capacity, and prolonged travel times. With scheduled track recording vehicles potentially weeks or months away when measurement needs arise, a more agile solution is imperative.
Ecorail’s innovative measurement rig changes the game. Engineered for flexibility, it can be swiftly dispatched to any location, bypassing the need for tedious railway transfer requests. The rig’s transport and deployment are streamlined through a truck-mounted roll-off container system.
Upon arrival, the rig is connected to a road-rail excavator, a common presence at construction and maintenance sites. It is thereupon pulled the track while on its rubber wheels. Once on the track, the rail wheels are engaged using a remote control while an internal counterweight is moved – providing sufficient load in accordance with the EN13848 standard.
